I’m usually the one in my family that others come to for advice on all things electronic. So I’ll give you the advice I’d give them on this watch – - if you are a bit dim when it comes to learning the intricacies of getting complicated electronics up and running, then don’t expect the instructions that accompany this doodad to enlighten you. I didn’t return mine because I hate to admit defeat, but you just might, so save yourself the trouble and just learn to take your pulse the old-fashioned way; you know, the way the nurses do every time you go to the doc’s office? Using a watch with a sweeping second hand and the ability to count!

It’s a great quality monitor, just be aware it does not ship with a chest belt – apparently that’s an accessory. Kind of like selling a car without tires!

I am not happy with this product. The instructions are not clear, and the pulse monitor doesn’t work right. Today I was on the treadmill. It went to 124 (oky) later as I stayed on the treadmill, it went to 114 (down with longer workout-no way), then it went to 35. So the longer Istayed on the treadmill, the lower it showed my rate just the opposite of what actually occured. I check my pulse using my neck pulse. Also, often when I try to check my pulse, it takes a long to time booting up, then it says “repress” After doing this three or four times, I fianlly give up and take my neck pulse. This is a bad buy!

I thought I would like the ” no strap” thing but I cant seem to get a good reading with this watch only type monitor. Been trying to see about buying a transmitter to convert to strap type monitor but they cost more than this watch. Live and learn I guess, but I havent totally given up yet.
